SFPD Officer Bryan Tuvera -- Memorial Vigil at Taraval Station Tonight (Dec 22, 2010)


The fourth anniversary memorial vigil for 
Officer Bryan Tuvera will he held tonight. 

Tonight, Wednesday, December 22, 2010
at Taraval Police Station Community Room,
, from 8:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Officer Tuvera was shot the night of December 22, 2006 by a suspect wanted on a felony warrant.  When the suspect attempted to flee on foot, officers initiated a foot pursuit.  The suspect broke into the side door of a residence and went into the garage.  When officers moved to take the suspect into custody, he opened fire, striking Officer Turvera. 

Despite valiant efforts by San Francisco Fire Department and San Francisco General Hospital staff, Officer Tuvera succumbed to his injuries early the next morning.  He was 28 years old.

Officer Tuvera entered the San Francisco Police Department on July 1, 2002.
