I wanted to take a moment today and congratulate Ed Lee on his appointment as Interim Mayor of San Francisco.
It’s an important day for San Francisco.
I have known Ed personally and professionally for a number of years. I respect his decades of service to our city.
Now that it’s official, it’s time for us to get to work. San Francisco, like California, faces the tough challenge of balancing the city budget while preventing cuts to key social services and continuing to improve our every day quality of life in the city – with better schools and improved roads and public transportation.
I believe Ed is well equipped to address these challenges in the coming year. I wish him the best and stand ready to help him in any way I can.
