Here is a story that deserves to be told. It's about a murder SFPD Inspectors solved in under 24-hours. It should be noted that Chief Jeff Godown was Assistant Chief and in charge of the Operations Division before his promotion to the top job. He deserves a good amount of the credit.
Here's the story:

San Francisco Police have arrested a suspect in the brazen Polk Street Café shooting death which occurred on Thursday, January 13, 2011.
That's Chief Jeff Godown in the photo. The three stars on his collar indicate the rank of the Assistant Chief. He wears four stars these days.
On January 13th at 4:24pm, San Francisco police officers responded to a shooting call on the 900 Block of Polk Street. Officers found Terry Turner, age 29, of San Francisco, inside the café suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Turner died at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect chased Mr. Turner through the occupied café to a back room where he shot Mr. Turner multiple times.
