Two men at the center of a bomb scare on a Washington state ferry said the incident was a misunderstanding stemming from a conversation about a "bong."

San Juan County Sheriff Bill Cumming said several passengers on the Yakima ferry reported overhearing the men identifying themselves as terrorists and saying there was a bomb in their belongings, The San Juan Journal reported.
Cumming said the boat was searched when it arrived in Friday Harbor and no explosives were found. He said the men claimed the reports were a misunderstanding.
"What we were talking about was taking some 'bong' hits and somebody I guess thought we said we had a bomb," one of the men told authorities. "I'm moving away from the island and we're having a party later on tonight."
