California Prop 10 - YES - Go Green California!

Proposition 10 is a five billion dollar bond measure which will reduce California’s dependence on foreign oil; clean our air of asthma and cancer causing chemicals; and create thousands of new green technology jobs in California.
.
This initiative will provide funds for a wide variety of clean energy projects, including consumer incentives for clean alternative vehicle fuels and the construction of renewable energy generation facilities, such as solar and wind power plants. It will also provide funds for research to improve our renewable energy options and to educate consumers about what clean and renewable energy products are available to them.
.
PROPOSITION 10 WILL PROVIDE URGENTLY NEEDED FUNDING TO:
.
- Generate electricity from renewable sources, including solar, wind, tidal and low‐impact hydropower.
.
- Provide consumer rebates to Californians for the purchase or lease of clean alternative fuel vehicles, including hybrids, electric vehicles and fuel‐efficient vehicles that get at least 45 miles per gallon.
.
- Replace older polluting diesel trucks with clean alternative fuel trucks.
Fund research and development of cheaper and cleaner alternative fuels.
.
Proposition 10 rebates go directly to consumers. There are no new taxes or bureaucracy.

I think it is absolutely absurd that the TV ad espouses the need to buy energy produced in America as the actor is plugging in a Japanese car.
Foreign oil bad, foreign car OK?

NO ON Prop $10 Billion!
League of Conservation Voters, Sierra Club, Union of Concerned Scientists, Natural Resources Defense Council and Environment California all OPPOSE Prop 10. 30 daily newspapers wrote editorials against Prop 10. Air Resources Board Chair Mary Nichols says vote No, and points out that NOTHING in PROP 10 stops interstate trucking companies from moving their trucks to another state after they collect the $50,000 handout. No on 10 - Don't cut our schools to make a Texas oil tycoon richer. visit: www.stopprop10.org
