Election Day Pollworkers Needed!
The Department of Elections is now accepting applications for the pollworker position for the upcoming Tuesday, November 4, 2008 Consolidated General Election. Pollworkers have various duties that include: attending a mandatory training class prior to Election Day during which all duties are explained in detail, picking- up election materials prior to Election Day and transporting them to the assigned polling place on Election Day, and assisting voters in any phase of the voting process in strict accordance with the California Elections Code.
Applicants must be United States citizens, age 18 or older, and registered to vote in California; non-U.S. citizens who speak Cantonese, Mandarin or Spanish are encouraged to apply to work as translators. Applicants may complete the on-line application at www.sfelections.org/pw. All positions are one day assignments and pay between $125- $170.
