Fifty years ago the young Queen Elizabeth II delivered her first Christmas Message and it was broadcast throughout the world on television.

In 1957 television was a relatively new medium. "I very much hope that this new medium will make my Christmas message more personal and direct," she said in the 1957 broadcast. "That it is possible for you to see me today is just another example of the speed at which things are changing all around us."
Now, fifty years after that first message, the Queen has decided to broadcast her Christmas Message to the world on the Internet.
The video includes a black and white segment from her first 1957 message and some scenes of the Royal Family, as well as the Queen's 2007 Christmas Message.
