May 19 Special Election in San Francisco


This coming May 19th San Franciscans are going to the polls to vote on six statewide propositions, dealing with the state budget. There are no local measures and no candidates on the ballot.

Here are the key dates to remember:

April 20: Early voting begins in City Hall, 8 AM to 5 PM Monday-Friday, downstairs outside Room 48.

May 4: Last day to register to vote.

May 12: Last day for new citizens who became citizens after May 4th to register to vote.

May 9, 10, 16, and 17: Weekend early voting in City Hall, 10 AM to 4 PM (Enter on Grove St. only).

May 19: Election day! Polls open 7 AM to 8 PM.

NOTE: Many polling places are changing this year because of budget cuts!
