The Bay vs The Bag: stop plastic bags in San Francisco Bay!


Today Save The Bay launched a new political action campaign – The Bay v. The Bag - to dramatically reduce plastic bag litter in San Francisco Bay and California's waterways. To promote the effort, the organization created produced a very interesting film. Watch it here.

An estimated 3.8 billion plastic bags are used in the Bay Area every year. Millions end up in the Bay, polluting our water, smothering wetlands and killing animals.

The San Francisco Bag Ban

San Francisco is leading the nation in legislating against plastic bags. They are outlawed and illegal in the City and County of San Francisco. Other SF Bay Area cities and counties need to do likewise. Read the San Francisco story here.
