Imperial Japanese Navy attack on Pearl Harbor - December 7, 1941


Today (68 years ago), December 7, 1941 naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan attacked the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and began World War II in the Pacific.

About the photo: This photo, taken in 2009, shows strafe marks still remaining on the concrete at Ford Island (in the middle of Pearl Harbor) left by bullets from a Japanese fighter aircraft's machine gun - 68 years ago!
