Craving a share of economic stimulus cash proposed by President Barack Obama, Bay Area officials identified almost $6 billion worth of infrastructure projects they said are ready to start and would generate nearly 27,000 jobs.
The list — which includes massive endeavors like the terminal renovation at San Francisco International Airport as well as small works like sidewalk replacements in a Napa neighborhood and replacement of crumbling Doyle Drive which leads to Golden Gate Bridge — will be the centerpiece of a lobbying effort for stimulus dollars as the Obama administration takes office.
