Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa will be in San Francisco on Tuesday, April 8th to accept an award from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC).
Desmond Tutu is the retired Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa. In 1984 he was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism. Also in 1984 he was warded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2007 he was awarded the Ghandi Peace Prize by the President of India. He has been honored with more than 40 honorary doctorate degrees from universities across the globe.
On Tuesday, April 8th, Archbishop Tutu, now 76, will be in San Francisco to accept the Outspoken Award from the IGLHRC.
