The San Francisco Bay Area Water Transit Authority
(WTA) has announced that they are the recipient of $14 million in federal funding for ferry boat and terminal construction.
The WTA plans to launch seven new ferry routes. A map of the planned routes can be seen here

Richmond-SF
South SF-Harbor Bay/SF
Treasure Island-SF
The WTA also plans to buy new ferry boats that are 10 times cleaner than existing ferries and 85% better than the EPA's emission standards for 2007 marine engines.
