The boat accident involving one boat and four men occurred at 5:50 a.m. The boat ran into a breakwall that separates the Richmond Marina from San Pablo Bay. One of the four men was ejected from the boat and was recovered by the other three men onboard the vessel. Upon recovery, CPR was administered to the man by his crew members until the Coast Guard arrived, at which point the Coast Guard crew began conducting CPR. Coast Guard Station San Francisco transported the four men to Richmond Harbor where they were met by EMS personnel who transported him to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

A 1-foot by 1-foot sheen was reported near the accident site and Coast Guard pollution investigators are responding.

The Army Corps of Engineers are in charge of the salvage operations and is on-scene.It is important for boaters to know the area in which they will be operating prior to getting underway. The Coast Guard recommends that all boaters use charts for navigation in their operating areas as charts provide information on hazards as well as safe passages through those hazards.
