Beginning April 22 and running through May 6, the 53rd San Francisco International Film Festival promises two weeks of cinematic bliss.
The Festival will screen more than 100 films from around the world, honor film icons Robert Duvall and Roger Ebert, open with Jean-Pierre Jenet’s dazzling caper “Micmacs”, feature the original score and live performance of Stephin Merritt to the silent epic “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, and celebrate a comedic legend on Closing Night with the documentary “Joan Rivers - A Piece of Work” - with Rivers in attendance.
The Festival is deeply etched into the San Francisco community fabric. Society advisory board members include former SF Mayor Willie Brown, Peter Coyote, Robert Redford, Ed Harris, Dustin Hoffman, Danny Glover and a host of impressive names.
