This time of year we are all pestered by campaign calls, junk mail and political email spam. Most of it comes from the presidential campaigns and a fair amount from local candidates. The exception is usually folks who are running for local county central committees. These candidates are seldom heard from - seldom that is - until now.

Linda Richardson is running a real and active campaign for San Francisco Democratic Party County Central Committee. In a press release sent to Sam Spade's San Francisco, Richardson wrote:
“I have worked for years and at every level to improve the lives of the residents of Bayview-Hunters Point, enhance the quality of life for San Franciscans, and to get Democrats elected,” Ms. Richardson wrote in her email. “It is crucial that this part of San Francisco receive energized, effective representation in the political arena, and for a dependable voice to be elected to the DCCC. I want to elevate the discussions within the Democratic Party on Affordable Healthcare, Education, the Environment, Economy, Green Energy and Human Rights.”
A former President of the Civil Service Commission and former member of the San Francisco Planning Commission, Richardson led negotiations that resulted in the historic 1998 agreement to close the Hunters Point power plant. She is currently a member of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission.
